Ormond Road, East Geelong

The new homes are modern and spacious, with double-glazed windows, energy efficient air conditioners, spacious cupboards and wardrobes, high ceilings and wide hallways that emphasise natural light and access to the outdoors.  

Every home has a private outdoor courtyard or balcony. Outside, landscaped gardens incorporate biodiverse indigenous and drought-tolerant plants. Residents can access shared facilities like a barbecue, picnic tables, gardens and community spaces. 

The buildings are contemporary and designed to suit Geelong’s local character. The three buildings in the project are named after local fauna. Wadawurrung Elder Ash Skinner chose the names. He was inspired by the migratory birds that make their home in the area in spring and summer. 

In 2023, we invited community to provide feedback on plans for the Ormond Road, East Geelong housing site.

As part of the $6.3 billion Big Housing Build, $1.25 billion is being invested into regional Victoria to ensure the benefits are shared in every corner of the state.
