54 new homes complete and ready for renters in East Geelong

Homes Victoria has delivered 54 new social housing homes in Geelong, giving more Victorians a safe and secure place to call home.
The new homes on Ormond Road, East Geelong, are part of the $6.3 billion Big Housing Build.
The new homes are modern, accessible and sustainable. They replace 18 ageing social housing homes that were not fit for purpose. This is an uplift of 36 homes, or triple the amount of social housing at Ormond Road.
The new homes are a mix of one-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments. They are modern, comfortable, energy-efficient, and close to schools, employment, transport and services.
Each home has its own private outdoor courtyard or balcony. Residents can also access shared facilities like barbecues, gardens and community spaces.
Three of the new apartments are fully accessible and DDA compliant. This means they are suitable for people with disability. The homes can be modified as residents age or need more support at home.
Who will live in the homes?
The new homes are social housing. This means they are for people on the Victorian Housing Register.
More homes for regional Victoria
We’re building more than 4,800 social and affordable homes across regional Victoria, with more to come.
In the Greater Geelong area, this includes more than 830 homes completed or underway. This is all part of the Big Housing Build, which includes the Regional Housing Fund.
