Build and Operate Program
The Build and Operate Program offers financial assistance to community housing organisations for up to 30 years to construct and manage housing on non-government-owned land.
Round one of the Build and Operate Program was announced in August 2018, supporting 12 community housing organisations to build social housing homes across 24 locations in Melbourne and regional Victoria. This funding round pre-dates the Big Housing Build and is funded by the Victorian Government.
In 2025, Homes Victoria announced additional Build and Operate homes that will contribute to the more than 12,000 homes committed under the Big Housing Build.
