Tag icon Old building

We've started planning for the redevelopment of Stage 2 of Dunlop Avenue in Ascot Vale. This project will deliver 101 new social homes. The new homes will be modern, well-designed and energy efficient. We'll also include new improved landscaped and communal areas for residents to enjoy.

This project is being delivered in partnership between the Commonwealth Government's Housing Australia Future Fund and the Victorian Government.

We’re delivering more and better social housing that is close to shops, transport and services - right in the heart of Ascot Vale.

Community consultation

In late 2025, we asked Dunlop Avenue residents, stakeholders, and the local Ascot Vale community what was important to them. The feedback we received during the consultation will help to inform the design of the new homes at the Dunlop Avenue housing site in Ascot Vale.

Thank you to everyone who provided valuable feedback.

There will be more opportunities for you to provide feedback on the final designs for the new homes in the coming months.

Community feedback is important in shaping the future design of the housing site. We encourage all Dunlop Avenue residents and the wider Ascot Vale community to participate in each stage of the planning and development process.

Relocations

All residents from the old walk-ups at Dunlop Avenue are being supported to move into new homes that suit their ongoing needs and preferences.

Relocated households will have the right to return to the new homes based on their ongoing eligibility, needs and suitability of the new homes.
