Abbotsford Street, North Melbourne

About the project

Homes Victoria is delivering new social and market homes to give more Victorians a safe and secure place to call home.

Abbotsford Street, North Melbourne is located to Melbourne’s north, just a few kilometres from the city centre.

The redevelopment of the site will replace 112 walk-ups that did not comply with current design standards with 300 new homes, consisting of 133 social homes and 167 market homes.

The site will deliver a 18% increase in social housing and First Home Buyers were given priority access to purchase a new market home.

The supply of new housing at the site will help tackle the growing problem of housing affordability in Victoria.

Homes Victoria is joining with development partner MAB Corporation, and registered housing association HousingFirst, to redevelop the Abbotsford Street, North Melbourne site.
