Help us plan for your relocation needs
About the survey
We’re inviting residents in your building to complete a short survey so we can start planning for your community’s needs during relocation.
This survey is an important first step to help us understand things like where people might want to move and what support they need.
This is not your official relocation form. It is completely optional and you do not need to provide any supporting documents.
You’ll still have plenty of time to ask questions and update us if anything changes. Your dedicated relocation support worker will help you complete the official form later this year.
Completing the survey online
Visit the online survey webpage by 12pm 27 March 2026 and enter your unique code.
We’ve sent a letter with a unique code to all households in your building. You may also receive a text message or email if you’ve supplied these contact details.
If you complete the survey online, you have a chance to receive 1 of 10 $200 gift vouchers to spend at Woolworths, BigW or participating EG Ampol Fuel sites. If you’re successful, the research agency will contact you within 2 weeks of the survey closing and let you know how to collect your voucher.
Completing the survey over the phone or in person
Research officers will also invite some residents to complete the survey over the phone and visit your building to support people in person. We’ll share more information once dates and times are confirmed.
If you complete the survey in person or over the phone, you will be offered a $20 gift voucher.
You can choose to stay anonymous
We’ve provided every household with a unique code so you can choose whether your answers are anonymous or not.
If you choose to be anonymous, the research agency will provide your answers to us without your unique code. If you want us to know the answers relate to your household, the research agency can provide your answers with your unique code. This will mean we know a bit more about your household when you begin the formal relocation process.
We may also share some of this information with other relevant health or community service providers who may support you throughout your relocation process.
If you choose to provide any personal information it will be treated in accordance with the department’s Privacy Policy and only used for the purposes noted above.
About your move
In 2023, the Victorian Government announced the redevelopment of 44 older social housing high-rise buildings to provide better, safer and more comfortable homes for current and future residents.
In January, we wrote to you to let you know that your building is part of the next stage of redevelopment. This means we will support residents in your building to move to new homes that suit their needs.
Next steps for your move
We have plenty of time to plan your move together:
- From April 2026 – we’ll share back what we heard from your community.
- From June 2026 – dedicated relocation support workers will work with all residents to complete official relocation forms. If your situation changes, your relocation support worker will update everything with you.
- Between July 2026 and February 2028 – we’ll work closely with you to find a home that meets your needs.
Language
You can complete the online survey in Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, Polish, Russian, Somali, Spanish or Vietnamese.
We will also have interpreters available to support people to complete the survey in person.
