Residents are already enjoying quality new homes and community facilities on Abbotsford Street, North Melbourne and major renewal will soon be underway at the Alfred Street precinct.

Starting with the redevelopment of 33 Alfred Street, we are delivering even more high-quality, energy-efficient homes and shared community infrastructure. 

It's all part of a long-term plan that puts local people, neighbourhood connection, and quality of life at the centre.  

What’s being delivered:

• Abbotsford Street redevelopment — has already delivered 127 new social homes, replacing 119 outdated walk-up homes. 

• 33 Alfred Street redevelopment — planning is underway for approximately 800 new homes expected to be complete in 2031. This includes 300 new social homes for current and future residents (an increase of 110% social homes). 

  It's the first step towards a well-designed, connected and welcoming neighbourhood with shared community spaces and potential for services and retail to support residents.
