A hive of activity in the heart of Flemington

Murnalung Park is now open, providing more than 5,000 square metres of green open space at the heart of the Holland Court housing development. The new park creates a welcoming place for the community to come together and connect.

The park features landscaped gardens, children’s play spaces, an exercise station, picnic tables and seating areas designed for people of all ages to enjoy.

The name Murnalung, meaning “bee”, was chosen with Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Elders and reflects the park as a place where people can come together and connect. 2 new roads within the development have also been named – Baanh Way, meaning “water”, and Marra Place, meaning “community”.

Homes Victoria would like to thank the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation for helping bring this important project to life.

Project update

The buildings are now structurally complete, with work continuing inside the new homes. Landscaping and outdoor works are also progressing, helping bring the redevelopment to life ahead of completion from late 2026.

Together with our project partner Building Communities and their builder ICON, we are delivering 286 new social and affordable homes, alongside a new public park for the Flemington community.
