Information for neighbours
We know your neighbourhood is important to you. The House Creek redevelopment will add much needed housing stock to the Wodonga area. It will deliver modern and energy-efficient homes to Victorians most in need of a home.
Demolition works
Between November 2025 and early 2026, we will be carrying out demolition works in Schlink, Carkeek and Hereford Streets. These works are to prepare the site for the construction of new homes.
A professional demolition contractor with expertise in asbestos removal will undertake the works.
What to expect:
- Installation of temporary fencing around the site
- Safe removal of asbestos by a specialist asbestos removalist
- Safe removal of some trees
-
Boarding up of vacant homes
- Demolition of vacant homes and above-ground structures
- Minor ground excavation.
At times there may be:
- Local traffic changes, including heavy trucks entering and leaving the area
- Medium-level vibrations
- High-level noise and dust
- Heavy machinery operating.
All demolition works will be carried out safely and we will do our best to minimise inconvenience to nearby neighbours and businesses.
Contractors will use control measures, such as dust suppression and noise reduction equipment to reduce impacts as much as possible.
All works will be managed in line with WorkSafe Victoria and Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria regulations.
If you have any concerns or questions about the works, you can contact the site manager on the number below or can send us an email.
