Westpeak Belmont proprietor Ryan Jin has developed a simple but effective approach to helping new residents connect with support services. 

When a resident first moves into the service, Ryan introduces them to SRS Outreach and Assistance Program staff and explains how the program can assist them. 

Importantly, the conversation does not stop there. 

A few weeks later, once residents settle into their accommodation, Ryan reconnects them with Outreach and Assistance Program staff who explain how the program can assist them. This second meeting gives residents a chance to receive and understand new information at a time that works better for them. 

This approach has helped more people get involved with support services and activities. It’s a great example of putting people first.
