More social homes for Mitcham

The construction of 62 new social housing homes is now underway in Mitcham. These one-, 2- and 3-bedroom homes form part of a 4-storey development which will provide more housing for families and individuals in the area. 

We are delivering this project in partnership with Community Housing Victoria Limited. These social homes will be allocated to people on the Victorian Housing Register, with 75% allocated to applicants with a priority need for housing. 

Residents will live a short walk from Mitcham railway station and close to various parks and reserves. 

The location of these homes support residents to access amenities they need to be a part of their local community and live healthy and happy lives, such as Mitcham Shopping Centre, and primary, secondary and specialist schools. 

The Mitcham development will include everything you’d expect from a modern-day apartment complex. The building includes a communal outdoor area with BBQ and garden, as well as a rainwater tank and basement-level car parks and bicycle racks.
