More and better homes built in Werribee
Posted on: 16/07/2025 - 9:02am
We partnered with Haven Home Safe and delivered 26 new social housing homes in Werribee in Melbourne’s fast-growing western suburbs.
This Big Housing Build project is located next to the Werribee River and its beautiful walking trail, and was completed in March 2025. The site previously housed a single residential dwelling, and is now home to safe and secure 2- and 3-bedroom homes allocated to people on the Victorian Housing Register.
All these social housing homes consist of attached townhouses, with all-electric appliances, solar panels and rainwater tanks. They are all spacious, multi-storey homes laid out in a village-style setting that will foster community and togetherness for residents.
The homes are located near various reserves, parks, wetlands and sporting facilities, as well as schooling and healthcare options. Residents also enjoy easy access to Werribee Station, the Werribee town centre and the Pacific Werribee shopping precinct.

What is social housing?
Social housing is short and long-term rental housing that is owned and run by the government or not-for-profit organisations.
Social housing is made up of two types of housing, public and community. Social housing is generally subsidised for people on low incomes who need housing, especially those who have recently experienced homelessness, family violence or have other special needs.
About the Big Housing Build
The Big Housing Build was announced in November 2020.
More than 10,000 homes have now been completed or are underway as part of the Big Housing Build and Regional Housing Fund.
The investment of more than $8 billion in social and affordable housing as part of the Big Housing Build and other programs is delivering safe, secure, and appropriate housing for Victorians in need, including young people, people with mental illness, victim survivors of family violence, Aboriginal Victorians and people living in regional Victoria.
