View and apply for available properties on the VARc Snug portal. 

When you apply online, you will enter a ballot for that property. 

In a ballot, the successful applicants are chosen randomly from a list. This way, all eligible applicants will have an equal chance of being offered a property. 

Applicants need to enter all details of people who will live in the property, even if they only live at the property part time. 

2. Verify application

If you are successfully drawn from the ballot, you must provide the below within 2 days: 

  • proof of total before tax household income   
  • proof that the primary renter is an Australian citizen or permanent resident   
  • proof that the primary renter is a Victorian resident   
  • proof that no household member owns or has an interest in residential or commercial property 
  • 100 points of identification   
  • referee details  

3. Inspect

You will have an opportunity to inspect the property before you sign the lease.

4. Move in

The tenancy manager will contact you if your application is successful.   

Once you accept the property, you will need to:  

  • sign the new lease  
  • pay 2 weeks rent in advance  
  • pay bond
