Pound Road, Colac
We’re delivering more and better homes in Colac.
This project will deliver 50 new homes on vacant Victorian Government land at Pound Road. The mix of 30 social homes and 20 affordable rental homes will be close to the town centre, public transport and retail, educational and community facilities.
The new homes will include a mix of one -, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedrooms and will be modern, accessible and energy efficient.
The project is funded by the Victorian Government’s Regional Housing Fund, part of the Big Housing Build, with enabling works support from the Australian Government’s Housing Support Program.
The project received all planning approvals in March and April 2026.
Site preparation works began in May 2026. Construction of the homes will begin in 2027.

Community consultation
In March and April 2025, we shared the proposed plans for the new homes on Pound Road with the Colac community and stakeholders. The feedback that we received has helped to inform the final designs.
Thank you to everyone that took part in the consultation process.
A report is available that outlines how we engaged with the local community, what we heard and how we responded.
Find out more about the engagement process and access the report on the Engage Victoria website.
Find out about community engagement events, new designs and works updates as they become available.
The Regional Housing Fund is a $1 billion investment to deliver more than 1,300 social and affordable homes across rural and regional Victoria. Find out more about the Regional Housing Fund.
