Residents are welcomed home at Walker Street, Northcote

The Walker Street, Northcote housing site is now complete, and residents have begun moving into their new homes.​ ​  ​

In partnership with MAB, we’ve delivered 250 new modern, energy-efficient homes. This includes 99 social homes and 151 market homes. There will be a mix of one-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedrooms for different sized families and households. 

HousingFirst is a not-for-profit community housing organisation. They will manage the social homes at the site for the next 20 years.  The team at HousingFirst has started welcoming previous residents back into the social homes, as well as new residents from the Victorian Housing Register.​ ​  ​

The Walker Street housing site includes: ​

• a community room ​

• artist studio ​

• a basketball key ​

• an outdoor gym ​

• a rooftop terrace with barbecues and tables that overlook Melbourne’s city skyline.  ​

The site has better pedestrian access to connect residents with local walking trails and destinations including the Merri Creek and Westgarth Street.​ ​ Our vision for the Walker Street housing site is to provide a place where people can thrive, connect with the community, and have a place to call home.​
