Homes Victoria Affordable Housing Rental Scheme
Homes Victoria’s Affordable Housing Rental Scheme gives everyday Victorians access to modern, energy efficient homes and stable housing at a more affordable rent.
Under the program, rents in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria are set at the lower of 30% of household income or 74.99% of the market rent.
The properties are rented under rental agreements up to 5-years to give renters more security. Renters may terminate their rental agreement at any time without penalty by giving the applicable written notice.
Many properties are located in diverse and thriving communities inclusive of public housing, community housing and private market housing. Common spaces provide opportunities for interaction and building connections.
All properties are close to green spaces, transport, shopping precincts and services.
Your household must meet a range of criteria to be eligible to rent a property.

Tenancy manager
The tenancy manager for the Homes Victoria Affordable Housing Rental Scheme is the Victorian Affordable Rentals consortium (VARc).
VARc is responsible for all housing maintenance at the properties.
